Christine believes in the value of all people and genuinely strives to provide a safe, non-judgemental environment where clients may ease their burdens, reflect on their past and make plans for their future.  Different types of services are provided, depending on the needs of the client.

Individual Counselling

There are many reasons you may be considering counselling – these reasons may be related to relationship difficulties, poor coping skills, addictions, anger, trauma, abuse, grief, loss or adjustment.  You may be struggling at work, or feel overwhelmed with your family and other responsibilities.  Maybe you are stuck and need a change…but you don’t know where to start.  Individual counselling may be what you need…to first unburden yourself of the stress, and then explore what it is that is making you feel like you’re no longer control of your life and your emotions.

If you have eligibility via certain government funded programs, such as Victim Services or Indigenous Services Canada, direct-billing is available.  Please contact Christine directly for more information.

Family Counselling

Families can be complicated, misunderstanding can happen and rifts can tear the foundation of the family apart.  The goal of family therapy is to ensure each member of the family is heard, meaning that each individual family member’s perspective is acknowledged.  Family secrets can trickle down through generations, causing tension in even the youngest members of the family.

Child Therapy

Christine truly enjoys working with young children, from age five and up.  Children may benefit from therapy for a number of reasons, including witnessing domestic instability, being victims of abuse or neglect, adoption, loss and grief.  Your child may have anxiety or express hopelessness.  Children naturally express themselves through creative play.  A selection of toys, art supplies and a sand-tray are all used to assist children with expressing their feelings and learn new coping skills.  Family members may also be requested to join some sessions with their children for Attachment-based activities and to put together an action plan to support them.  Children often struggle to express their needs in words and may behave in undesirable ways when they are struggling.  The goal of counselling is to understand what your child is communicating through their behaviour, and to help to meet those needs.

Please note that Christine does not conduct parental capacity assessments or become involved in high-conflict parental separation cases.  Christine reserves the right to decline a child client referral based on the issues presented and refer elsewhere when the needs are outside of her treatment scope.

Couple Counselling

How well are you and your partner communicating?  Has your relationship changed over time…and not for the better?  Poor communication can be a big problem with couples, leading to arguments, hurt feelings and broken hearts.  If you and your partner are struggling, and want to work together to figure out the future of your relationship, then couples counselling may be for you.

Christine has extensive experience in the field of rehabilitative case management and can work with clients to develop realistic, goal-oriented plans to reach their desired potential.
